Kandura
Tailoring has been at the heart of the Al Madani family business since the 1940’s and they have their Al Thawb Al Watani stores across the city. From a brainstorming session with Mr. Mohammed Al Madani, Chairman of the Al Madani Group, came an idea to evolve a traditional clothing icon.
The kandura or thawb is the national dress of Arab men across the GCC and beyond. It rarely changes in shape or design although members of the Dubai royal family do champion colourful options.
The concept generated was to design and retail unique and fashionable kanduras and accessories that would attract the young and the image conscious Emiratis.
The name came naturally, Kandura. Zaman then worked to create the contemporary brand identity and role it out to the sleek packaging, the stylish marketing collaterals, and, most importantly, the sophisticated inside and out of the converted Jumeirah villa outlet.
The outcome is brave and bold and thoroughly in-keeping with the abundant innovation that drives Dubai and the Al Madani business empire.
