Al Ain Photographia
WHEN AL AIN WAS VIEWED THROUGH DIFFERENT LENSES
As part of its tourism drive Al Ain Municipality initiated the Al Ain Photographia Award, an annual photography competition to encourage visitors to travel to the city and ‘Capture Al Ain’. The competition was also to generate high quality images, in turn, used to raise awareness and appreciation of the city.
Zaman created an award logo, with a matching trophy, to anchor this annual event. The design represents the camera lens and eye of the photographer, with the colours expressing Al Ain’s diversity. The identity is strongly delivered by very colourful and relevant graphics, designed to ensure people get the ‘photography’ message quickly. The core of the program is the very informative website serving as both image submission platform and voting platform for the ‘People’s Choice Award’. Materials created included a TVC, showreels, mall stands, advertising for press and outdoor, direct mail and a social media campaign. The culmination was an award ceremony with an exhibition gallery, winner’s catalogue and gifts for invitees.
