Counting down to Design Days Dubai 2012
March in Dubai is probably one of the busiest periods in the arts calendar – Art Week & Art Dubai, along with it a string of exciting fringe fairs like SIKKA which Zaman worked on last year. Read the case study here.
A few days ago Zaman founder Grace Yacoub had a meeting with an art collector cum gallery director who’ll be taking part as an exhibitor during Design Days Dubai 2012.
Design Days Dubai is a new major fair in the Middle East that is dedicated entirely to collectable and limited edition furniture pieces and objects, making it the first international design fair in the Middle East & South Asia. Taking place from March 18 – 21st the fair will be held in a specially-built arena in Downtown Dubai.
International and regional galleries, which include Carpenter’s Workshop Gallery (Paris/London), Diane de Polignac Gallery (Paris), Sarah Myerscough (London), Gallery Seomi (Seoul) and Victor Hunt Design & Art dealer (Brussels) to name a few, will be exhibiting an array of wares created by renowned designers, displaying the best of creativity and craftsmanship.
Zaman is an avid supporter of nurturing the arts & cultural community in the region (being that the UAE is so young) and we see Design Days Dubai as a new annual meeting platform for designers, design aficionados & art collectors that will certainly add a new dimension to the region’s design and art scene.
